Sum Kiu is an illustrator born and raised in Hong Kong, and a graduate of the Academy of Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours).

 

Sum Kiu specialises in digital illustrations and she is passionate about visual storytelling. Inspired by her observations of the world and everyday life, she uses fictional characters and stories to embody truthful emotions and experiences. Among them, "Roots" is her first graphic novel ---- a graduation work that received distinction and awards.

 

Sum Kiu has been working as a professional illustrator for 4+ years. From working in an Hong Kong-based animation studio to doing the daily grind at a reputable textbook publisher, her experience in both industries has given her a solid foundation in visual storytelling. Now based in the UK, she's exploring new creative opportunities where she can continue to grow as an illustrator and use her skills to create meaningful, inspiring work for others.
